Mega Fashion Crew: Exuding Beauty in Threes
Hype is building as the remaining teams feel the pressure to prove that they should be
MEGA’s Top Fashion Crew. As a final twist last episode, no teams were eliminated during the
last challenge. But for this week, good will not be enough.
The teams have made it this far and the judges are expecting only the best among the best.
People always view beauty as seemingly effortless. In reality, it requires a lot of work to
create an image worthy of perfection. It also needs quite a great deal of attention to achieve.
This week’s challenge will show beauty in different aspects and stretch the contenders’
creative ideas further.
A three pronged challenge awaits contestants as they strive to be the final two.
| MEGA's Magic 4 |
Contestants will have to show beauty through three different mediums: a print ad; a
television commercial; and a fashion show. The teams have already executed fashionable
photos and a stylish runway show. But will they be able to pull-off a tv commercial for a
product feature?
In just one challenge, teams have to display their strengths in the three challenges to wow
the judges. The teams also need to convince judges on a product feature through a tv
commercial. Will the challengers survive through three challenges in one episode?
| Guest judge Joey Reyes, resident judges Raya Mananquil, Sari Yap, Avel | Bacudio, and guest judge Manuel Villafania |
Veteran director Joey Reyes and top creative director Mr. Manuel Villafania share their ideas
and expertise as a guest judge for the episode.
The teams must be bold enough for a beautiful triumph. The four remaining teams will have
to show only their strongest to make the final cut for the grand finale. Who will be the last
two teams vying to be MEGA’s Top Fashion Crew?

HOW TO BREAK INTO THE UK FASHION INDUSTRY

Have you ever wondered how a fashion education course from the UK can help you set-up a fashion studio in the UK? Listen to how fashion designer Lilia Yip was able to do this at a talk to be held at the British Council office (10th Floor Taipan Place, F. Ortigas Jr. Road, Ortigas Center, 1605 Pasig, Philippines) on Wednesday, 05 October 6:00pm.
Lilia is a Singaporean designer musician based in Brighton, UK. She graduated from the Royal College of Art MA Fashion Womenswear in 2008, and set up her studio in 2009. She is the UK guest designer for Look Magazine’s Look of Style Awards where she will showcase her unique conceptual designs. The Look of Style awards is a unique opportunity for a Filipino fashion designer to win a short course at Central St Martins in London where hopefully another Lilia Yip can be found.

Admission to this talk is FREE. If you reside outside Manila or are unable to attend the talk, you may join us online for a live broadcast!

Mega Fashion Crew: Return to Temptation
contestants are faced with the hypnotic – and sometimes dangerous – challenge of
temptation.
look that mirrors the original temptress herself, Eve. Hold on to your senses and be
allured with the most exotic episode of this season.
![]() |
| Prepping to be Eve |
But how do you pull off a high fashion shoot without clothes? Think Eve and what else
was with her in the Garden of Eden? This episode proves juicier than the bite on an
apple. Sexiness will be brought to life with another round of surprises.
| Temptation being personified |
on this sinfully delightful challenge.
Still, it’s not going to be a paradise of dreams for the teams. Some challengers will be
eliminated as we inch closer to the grand finale of the show. With only 20 contenders left,
only the strongest can survive the strong seduction of failure.

Ruffled
Just a quick update of what I've been up to this week. and I descibe this week as ruffled.
elegantly waved and sophisticated
Right now I'm just waiting for my downloads to finish-- that is sept and oct 2011 international fashion magazines. My next class starts at 5pm pa but I'll go to school already after this to work on my boutique design and fashion show runway design using SketchUp -- I'm new to this btw. thanks to youtube tutorials!
Yesterday, My prof in Aesthetics gave back our prelim papers and I got 1.0! hooray! my grade was actually 77/75! thanks to the bonus points! I'm loving mondays because of the Torres sibs! we have TV ART class with Ma'am Carrie Torres and Aesthetics class with Sir Fernando Torres, I wish I'd have him again as my prof for Aesthetics2 next semester :D
for the past weekend, I just stayed home and gave all my time for plates and thesis. It was a productive weekend! I was able to finish all requirements needed for my non-thesis subjects.
Thank God for being able to focus!
I'm also glad that my savings are increasing fast and I was able to sell a piece I designed for the Cirq Regal Fashion Show last February. My bank account is so happy! I'll be needing it for something in the future. It sucks to resist shopping and I feel envious for the stuffs I see online but I have to resist! haha
on the other hand, Estell and I have laid out our plans and I'm very excited for it, can't stop thinking about it! so for now we just really have to focus and finish our theses so we can start with everything.
That's all for now, toodles!

Mega Fashion Crew Episode 8: High Street Surprise
HIGH STREET SURPRISE
urban jungle, challengers must find their way around twists and turns to reach their goal.
Working with the theme “High Street Fashion”, challengers will be faced with a lot of firsts
in this episode.
Aspiring Mega Fashion Crew contestants will have to face their newest challenge yet.
| One of the teams tries to get the perfect shot along the streets of Makati. |
proves to be a stressful but special feat as teams will be working on the first anniversary
ad campaign of 50th Avenue. The final looks will be featured at 50th Avenue’s display
window. Challengers will conceptualize to show their take on high street fashion.
A first in the competition, teams will be doing the photo shoots on the streets. Watch to
see how the contestants work through the uncontrolled environment outdoors. The team
that survives shooting on the city streets will emerge as the victors for this challenge.
As another first, the guest mentor will double as the guest judge. In this challenge, high
street fashion will determine who stays and who leaves. Those who find the right route
are deserving to still be in the race to be Mega’s Top Fashion Crew.

Driven
6 months before graduation. 5 months before thesis defense.
this week has been so toxic yet a productive one for me. consecutive sleepless nights and beating deadlines.
It's not even prelims or finals week but it was hell. and I was actually thinking that my thesis in critical condition but after all, being able to accomplish all the tasks,I feel relieved! now I feel that I'm back on track!
(I skipped the Mango event but I was able to do all these, so Im thankful!)
here are the things to be happy about:
- -I was finally able to finish my beadings for my TXD(Textile Design) subject and pass it on time!
- -did my abstract painting during Composition class. finished it the same day even though deadline is still next Wednesday
- -Submitted my 50 fashion sketches. had 24 sketches approved.
- -finished submitted our table display for VMA. exhibit soon!
- -no more backlogs: blogged about MFC, smartnetphone, port88, bluefly and marc jacobs nailart
- -was able to bond with Bel, one of my closest friend since first year college who I seldomly see now because our schedules don't match.
-not really a fan of basketball but UST just got in the final four! last thursday, all the lobbies of each building was full of people watching UAAP (ust vs. feu) even Zarky's and other canteens/ shops around that has a TV. I wasn't able to watch the entire game but they said it was awesome and yes it really was! I just found a link where you can watch the highlights: http://uaapsports.studio23.tv/Video.aspx?videoid=235 Congrats for winning, UST! school pride!
